The District of Columbia Launches AppStore.dc.gov

The District of Columbia (Washington D.C) has launched one of the first live examples of a Government AppStore at appstore.dc.gov. The site features a series of cloud applications built using various DC government data feeds created by both DC government agencies and by individuals/companies.

The site includes a directory of both governmental and non governmental applications listed by category including Education, Public Safety, Economic Development, Infrastructure, Government Operations, Health and Human Services, and About DC

Below are some of the featured apps;

DC Wi-Fi Hot Spot Map
Use the map to find a Wi-Fi hot spot and display information about it.

CapStat Mapping Application
DC Government operational data on the map.

Business License Verification
You can use this website to check to see if some types of businesses have valid licenses

Summary Reports
Summary reports based on operational data provided by DCRA, DDOT, MPD, OTR and the Citywide Call Center.

DC Data Catalog
Access to DC Government Data

Emergency Information Center
Use maps to help prepare for an emergency.

DC Police Crime Mapping
The Police Department's crime mapping application provides a comprehensive resource for information on crimes throughout the District of Columbia.

DC Atlas

Property Quest
An easy way to view a wide range of site-related information, especially information on historic resources.
